Happy Saturday! Are you ready to see what’s in the Ipsy Glam Bag I received this month? ME TOO!
As mentioned in my beauty haul post earlier this week, this is my first glam bag I’ve received. I decided to sign up after seeing the things my mom got in previous months and briefly chatting with her about how she likes Ipsy. If you don’t know what it is, Ipsy is a monthly subscription where you receive deluxe and full-size samples of great beauty products. It gives me the chance to try new things and discover new brands. The subscription is $10/month + FREE shipping. Knowing that a lot of these products you get samples of cost much more than $10 most of the time, I thought “That’s a smokin’ deal! Sign my ass up!!”
So now it’s time to check out the goods! Look at this awesome stuff:
First up we have something I’m looking forward to trying – a sugar lip scrub by Hanalei. This lip scrub contains Maui sugar crystals, pure kukui oils from Hawaii, nature’s miracle oil, vital fatty acids, vitamins A, C, and E, and shea butter all wrapped up in one nice little package designed to exfoliate your lips. The product is paraben free as well. Since I live in AZ, exfoliating your lips is crucial especially in the winter. I can’t wait to try this and see how soft and amazing my lips feel.
Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in Lavender Bloom – $6
The shadow duo is a mineral formula that is mica-infused for added lustre. The mineral formula reflects light away from any imperfections and are inspired by the beautiful colors of gemstones to add to your natural beauty! The duo has two coordinated shades designed to be used together or solo. Apparently you can apply it dry or wet if you desire more intensity. I’m already looking for a way to try this out with cosplay makeup. The shades are pretty!
Mr. Write (Now) Eyeliner Pencil in Scott B Bordeaux by theBalm Cosmetics – $17
I have never had a purple eyeliner until now and honestly I can’t wait to figure out a look that incorporates purple eyeliner – purple is my favorite color after all! This pencil has a built-in sharpener and is designed to give long-lasting color. These pencils are available in eight shades.
Smudger Brush by Skone Cosmetics – $15
Okay I have a confession to make – I’ve never had a proper smudger brush until now. I know – makeup fail. That’s why I was happy to get this one in my Ipsy bag! Skone’s brushes are made with natural pony hair and are great for lining, smudging, or blending both eyeliner pencils and shadows. Maybe now I will have even better smoky eyes once I start using the proper brush!
Cleansing Oil by Burt’s Bees – $16
Let’s be real here. I fucking love Burt’s Bees. Their chapstick is amazing and my boyfriend has always loved using their shave cream. Like all of their products, their cleansing oil has 100% natural ingredients. Now, if you know me at all, you’ve probably heard me complain about how oily my skin already is. On top of that, my skin is super sensitive to the point that I have reactions to a lot of different facial cleansers, moisturizers, and scrubs in the past. Therefore, I’m a little concerned about how this product will interact with my skin. Burt’s Bees cleansing oil claims that it removes dirt and makeup using a unique combo of coconut and Argan oils but won’t leave an oily residue. Also, it won’t dry out your skin. This is really the only product I’m a little worried about trying because of my skin type and it’s crazy sensitivity but hey, I’ll give it a shot!
For my first Ipsy bag, I’d say I got a pretty sweet deal. $10 for 5 products worth WAY more. Hell yeah!! Once I’ve had a chance to put all of these products to the test, I’ll give you all a follow up on how it went!
If you’d like to join me in getting your own bag full of beauty goodies each month, feel free to sign up through my referral link. And then get all your friends hooked on it. You know you want to. It’s good shit, if you can’t tell from this post. Get your own Glam Bag subscription here: Gimme dat Ipsy!
